Thank you for visiting my webpage. I am honored to serve as your county commissioner. Since I was elected to the Commission in 2008, I have proudly served the people of our diverse and beautiful county. In almost a decade of public life as Mayor of Milwaukie and County Commissioner, I've worked hard to bring practical solutions forward to address the critical issues we face.
Oregon Native, College Grad and Long time Small Business Owner
I was born and raised here in Clackamas County and have owned and operated an auto repair business in Milwaukie for the past 25 years. After graduating from Portland State University, I bought my business from my father just like he did from his father. This year we will celebrate 85 years in business. I've spent most of my life serving our community. From organizing the Milwaukie Farmers Market to representing our community at the local, state and federal levels, my experience is diverse. I have more work to do and I welcome the opportunity to continue serving you and your family as your County Commissioner.
Jobs Are Number One
No two issues are more important to me than providing jobs in Clackamas County and keeping our communities safe. I have worked hard to create, retain and expand the job base in Clackamas County. Our superb quality of life, wonderful amenities and rich natural resources positions our County in a unique way to attract business investment and offers citizens a great place to live, work and play.
Public Safety is a Top Priority
I am a strong supporter of policies that keep our communities safe. I walk the talk. Besides serving as the lead commissioner liaison focused on corrections and juveniles, I am also on the State Board of Community Corrections. I believe we must give local law enforcement the resources and attention they need to be effective. Some of the hot button issues I have been working on include addressing rowdy behavior along the Clackamas River; requiring homing beacons on Mt. Hood so we can locate missing climbers; and supporting the sheriff's challenging community policing mission.

Your county commission is an effective and hard working team. Together, we have determined a clear path forward for citizens and businesses to find the critical balance between jobs, public safety, quality of life, great schools, an efficient transportation system and economic vitality and opportunity.

Our county, just like the rest of the country, has been through one of the worst economic crises in our nation's history. As things are beginning to again look up, Clackamas County is ready to make the most of the improving economy to assure our business and industry get the support they need to grow and expand. We want our citizens to benefit from the economic and lifestyle opportunities which make our County one of the best places to live in the country and raise a family.
